Company Landscape Action for Cocoa: Building the Business Case
Produced mainly by smallholders, cocoa is a major source of livelihood for about 40 million people. While a key vehicle for economic growth, the commodity has also been a key driver of deforestation. This challenge is driving companies to engage on the ground, both traditionally within their supply chains and increasingly in collaboration with other stakeholders in the landscapes that produce cocoa.

A recent study conducted by TFA, Proforest, and CDP found that at least 29 midstream and downstream companies have invested in at least 20 landscape initiatives in cocoa producing areas. TFA, WCF, Proforest and CDP are organising a webinar to share recommendations from this study, and delve deeper on the current and upcoming business case for companies to take landscape action in cocoa production areas.

The confirmed line up of speakers are:
• Ethan Budiansky, Senior Director of Environment, WCF
• Cédric van Cutsem, Senior Director, Cocoa Life, Mondelēz International
• Mike Senior, Deputy Director – Conservation and Land Use, Proforest
• Norma M. Pedroza Arceo, Technical Manager for Forest and Land – Sustainable Landscapes, CDP
• Leony Aurora, Landscapes and Partnerships Lead, Tropical Forest Alliance

Please note when you register for this webinar, you will be automatically registered to the Jurisdictional Action Network (JAN), managed by the TFA, comprising 1,600+ representatives of civil society, companies, donors, and development partners advancing the use of landscape and jurisdictional approaches to achieve a forest positive future at scale.
